The 4th Xiang Merchants Summit Forum, was inaugurated in Shanghai yesterday, hosted by the Hunan provincial government offices in Shanghai and Hunan Chamber of Commerce, the newspaper in association.

The theme of this forum was “New start, New opportunities, and New cross - after the World Expo on business opportunities and challenges of Xiang merchants” and discussed on how to grasp the new opportunity and new challenge to achieve "innovation-driven, transformation and development."

Amongst the guests were Li Wuwei ,CPPCC Vice Chairman, Wang Maolin ,secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee; Gan Lin, vice governor of Hunan Province; Liu Liwei, vice governor of Hunan Provincial Government and so on.. Also a lot of Outstanding Persons were commended at the meeting.

Show the rise of a powerful commercial strength of Hunan

According to the Office of Hunan Provincial Government, deputy director Wu Dengguo in Shanghai, at present, Hunan business group has become a booster and important force for economic and social development in China. Up to now, Non-local Hunan Chamber of Commerce has reached 127 in different places, all over the country covering 29 provinces and autonomous regions, a total of more than 30,000 member companies, all kinds of business people nearly 10 million people. Shanghai Commerce and Industry Bureau statistics show that, Hunan enterprises in Shanghai has more than 13,000 commercial enterprises, with the registered capital of more than 380 billion RMB, of which more than 100 million RMB is over 60 enterprises. As the first non-local Hunan Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, Hunan Chamber of Commerce currently has more than 1,000 member companies, including listed companies and nearly 60 industry leaders, which both in Shanghai and Hunan have a wider impact.

Huang Hui, the newly elected Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, indicated that, Facing these data, we are not in pride, but also feel great responsibility. It was also revealed that at present, the Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai is leading a group of Hunan large member companies, plans to build a Business Building in appropriate area of Shanghai. The building will be as the general headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce members in Shanghai, which can improve the overall image of the Hunan Merchants, showing the strengths of the United Hunan business.

Focus on innovation and seizing the high ground

Li Wuwei ,the CPPCC Vice Chairman mentioned that the global economic situation is gradually returning to pre-crisis level, and the "BRIC" emerging countries are the leaders in the recovery. If we would like to seize the commanding heights of the future development, innovation is an important part of segments. which is particularly noteworthy for us.

Li Wuwei noted that, not only new industries should be encouraged , innovation and upgrading of traditional industries are also urgent. At present, the traditional manufacturing need to focus more on R & D and design to improve product value and market competitiveness. Industrial upgrading requires culture, technology, products, market combination of these four elements. In “the 12th-Five" period, China's economy will regard "optimizing the structure, change the mode of economic development," as the main line, strengthen the importance of innovation. "Technological progress" and "cultural creativity" will be the important support and power to promote an economic restructure changes.
